 Hi Janis

You must be so excited that your business is finally up and running and that your customer base is filling out. But there’s still a  lot of hard work ahead of you kid, before you reach your goal of complete financial freedom – you know – that dream house in the Caribbean, the matching ‘His’ and ’Her’ Ferraris, etc.

You’ll come across a whole lot of new situations and dilemmas that you haven’t had to deal with up to now, and I want you to know you can always call on me for help.

You know very well that I’m not trying to tell you how to run your business, it’s just that I know how tough it can get when you’re running your business on your own, and I just want to be here for you if you ever need any moral support, advice or even just a listening ear.

Having been running my own business for over 25 years I expect you can guess that I’ve already faced most business scenarios at least once during that time, so please feel free to ask  and I’ll do my best to help.

Please stay in touch and let me know how you and the business are getting on.

 Take care

 Love

 Jan

Hi there

When I was writing the above letter to my friend Janis, the thought crossed my mind that there must be hundreds, if not thousands of people out there in exactly the same boat as her. A new venture. The fledgling business. A big step into the unknown.

And it is an exciting stage in life. Big dreams. Big plans. You’d like to enjoy the ride too.

But how do you to run a business and keep a balance with your personal life as well? Is it possible to have a good quality of life whilst at the same time focusing on building your empire? Or does all that stuff have to be ‘put on hold’ until after you’ve made your fortune?

Well you’ll be pleased to hear the good news. It can be done . . . and quite easily, using simple strategies, consistently applied.

Nevertheless many people foolishly insist on learning the hard way. You know what I mean – ‘The School of Hard Knocks,’ ‘The Great Encyclopaedia of Life,’  ‘It’s best to learn on the hoof you know,’ ‘ learn from your own mistakes. . . .’

Each to their own I guess, but it will certainly slow you down to learn like that. Except – here’s a twist – how about learning from someone else’s mistakes and experiences? Now that would actually speed things up for you, really accelerate your progress towards business success.

So after I’d written the letter to Janis I got to thinking that, “Hey, I’ve gone through so many common situations that a lot of entrepreneurs face at some point whilst running their businesses, like:

  • Periods of severe financial restraint (being broke!)
  • Working relentless, long hours
  • Having and bringing up children
  • Problems with employee incompatibility
  • Sub-contractors running off with big clients
  • Customers going broke and owing us thousands
  • Sitting up until 3am end-of-month invoicing
  • Coping with ageing parents in poor health
  • Having major surgery
  • Major technical disasters with computers

And I continued running the business throughout. (No wonder I ended up on anti-depressants for some years during the Eighties!)

I’m one of the category that ‘learned on the hoof’ for no other reason than there was no-one around to ask as none of my friends or family ran businesses.  So I frequently fell foul of the mounting stresses when I couldn’t see the light at the end of the tunnel.

But boy! how I wish there had been someone I could have talked things over with then, who could give me the benefit of their knowledge so that I didn’t have to learn through sometimes painful experience, and have to live with the ongoing consequences .

For that reason, I would like to help other stressed entrepreneurs like you, who are going through the same things that I went through, to learn from my experiences and save you a lot of headaches, speeding your journey in the process.

As you noticed in my letter to Janis, my angle is not to tell you how to run your business – you know far more than me about that! I’m more interested in supporting you, as a person, to have the physical and mental stamina to carry on to achieve your business success – a sort of ‘business’ life-coach, if you like.

You see, I wrote this book a couple of years ago – the one that I’m giving to you - SUCCESSFUL YOU, SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS – but somehow it didn’t seem complete. It wasn’t enough just to give the basics of how to fortify yourself, to keep yourself going and keep your dreams alive when running your business, and just leave you to get on with it. In my experience, you need more than that. You need ongoing support and advice. And you need it regularly.

So my conclusion was that there is need for support for small business owners like you, to help you to physically and mentally cope with the day-to-day rigours of running your own business, knowing that thousands of others around the world are going through the same situations as you’re facing; and also having an interchange of ideas as to how others manage to hold onto their dreams and keep going.

I also realised that, even as the challenges to the small business owner change on a daily basis, you would greatly benefit from regular contact, boosting you, encouraging you and cheering you on.

The way I’d like to start this is by sending out a monthly newsletter by post, called “My Friend in Business”  I’ve called it that because that is what I would like it to feel like - a letter to you from a friend.

After all, when you think of it, friends:

      listen,

help when you have a problem,

      tell you their latest news,

boost you up when you’re going through bad times,

      make you laugh,

show you what they’ve just bought,

      keep each other going,

make suggestions to help improve things for you,

are interested in how things are going with you,

      share mutual interests,

encourage you to take care of yourself,

spur you on to achieve your goals,

      understand what makes you tick,

      are there for you,

goad you on to treat/SPOIL yourself,

      stay in touch,

      share tips and . . .

encourage you to reach your full potential.

And the object of this (news)-Letter will be to do ALL of the above – to be a real friend in business.

But I still don’t think it’s quite enough to do the job. It can get very lonely out there in the business world alone, and a month can be a long time.

So, in between newsletters I’ll also drop you an e-mail to chivvy you up, (Dictionary definition: ‘chivvy up’ – to rouse to action), just in case you managed to get distracted by the hustle-bustle of everyday business life! (AS IF!)

Each month ‘My Friend In Business’ and the follow-up e-mail will contain:

  • News
  • Encouragement to keep you going
  • An in-depth feature from the book on taking care of yourself in business
  • A goal for the month
  • Resource recommendations for you, the small business owner
  • Invaluable advice on mindset to keep you going mentally
  • Marketing tips
  • Readers letters (A $50 Amazon voucher for Letter of the Month)
  • Questions from readers
  • Ideas of what to give yourself as treat for working so hard
  • And more . . .

So, if you want to feel the satisfaction of reaching your ultimate business goals, and you want to enjoy life along the way, sign up for this newsletter NOW. It’s a very small investment to save yourself from hitting all the potholes and will speed your way along the road to your business success and the lifestyle you’ve been dreaming of.

What’s the catch? The catch is that there is no catch! In fact I’m going to make it even easier for you to make the decision to sign up. Not only will I not process your payment until one month after you receive your first newsletter, but I’ll also give you my personal money-back guarantee:

GUARANTEE

If after 3 whole months of receiving ‘My Friend In Business’ you do not agree it is a valuable tool to keep you going in your chosen business path, just let me know at that point and I will refund your 3 months subscription in full – no questions asked.

The book you can freely keep as a gift from me to you, with my best wishes for your future health and success.

Let me just remind you of one last thing. You notice that most people who are financially successful in business and life these days look for ways to work smarter, not harder. ‘My Friend In Business’ is a key to doing just that.

Ask yourself: “Am I happy with the balance I have between my business life and my personal life now, at this moment? If the answer is ‘Yes’ then this Newsletter won’t benefit you much, but you still might find it interesting.

However, if the answer is ‘No’ and you want to breakthrough and discover a way to have a good quality personal life whilst you grow your business to its full potential, then I urge you to click here to sign up for this life-altering newsletter.

But you’ll have to move quickly because I only intend to offer this opportunity to limited number of about 50 business people subscribing to “My Friend in Business” initially. These 50 will get specially reduced, ‘start-up’ rates which will not be repeated. Once they’ve all signed up, the subscription rates will be increased

 Take care
